Monitor WG K4951 - Triple Punch

Presentation:
No power up, no neck glow. Moderate screen burn from Triple Punch indicating likely the original monitor.

Problem: Monitor had a blown fuse and had all original capacitors.
Rectification: Replaced the pigtail 4A fuse with a fuse holder and new fuse. Replaced all the capacitors with new.
Result: Monitor powered up, fuse remained in tact, monitor showed vertical collapse.

Problem: Vertical collapse
Rectification: Tested vertical transistor Q302 and Q303, found that 303 was bad and replaced.
Result: Collapse improved slightly but still collapsed
Rectification: Tested all components in vertical circuit, found D302 and D303 both bad and replaced with new.
Result: Vertical collapse is corrected but lines remain on the bottom of the screen.

Problem: Line artifact at the bottom of the screen
Rectification: Replaced Q302 to see if the transistor was failing. Replaced with cross reference D401A.
Result: No change, will leave monitor as is and see if artifact is noticeable in game.

Final result: The monitor did no show any anomalies once it was placed back in the game. Likely the TPG tends to generate poorly on some model monitors with a less than full power battery.
